It is with a grateful heart that I announce the outcome of our fundraiser for Summer Hews.
At BTR we are passionate about fundraising for sick children and their families each year. At the end of each fundraiser we pass on the money raised plus a little gift that is very much relevant to things they love.
In 2017, this child was Summer. Summer was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia two years ago. As you can imagine a families life was turned upside down. However, Summer has an amazing spirit and a smile that lights up a room. To read more on Summer’s Journey simply click on the link below.
This year we raised $160 with your help. Thank you to everyone who bought a wrist band or simply donated money to this fundraiser.
Our final gift for Summer is 4 tickets for herself and her family to see Aladdin in Brisbane on Saturday 17 March. This would not have been possible without the generosity of Matthew Henderson, Production Company Manager for the Walt Disney Company (Australia) and the gift of these four tickets. Summer loves musicals and was to perform in her school musical when she received her diagnoses. As a result, Summer was unable to perform but has never lost her love for singing and musicals.
Even though our fundraiser for Summer comes to a close, we will continue to follow her story and keep you updated on her progress.
